Vintage GM Bus on display @ CivicFest

There was a very cool GMC Bus on display recently in Minneapolis, MN at an event called the "CivicFest". Here are the specs on the bus:

1947 GM Coach PDA 3703

• Cost to build was $37,000
• Capacity 37 p***engers
• 471 diesel engine
• 12.00 x 22.5” tires
• Approximateley 6 MPG
• 35 feet long
• 8 feet wide

Reminds me of the GM Futureliner that the National Automotive and Truck Museum of the United States (NATMUS) owns and shows around the country. It is headquartered in Auburn Indiana, behind the old Auburn/Cord HQ downtown. In the winter it is stored in Zeeland MI (where it was restored).

In case anyone is interested, the TV show "Bitchin' Rides" on the Velocity Channel (a Discovery channel network) will showing its 2-hour season finale on Tuesday, October 28, from 9-11 PM EDT. It will be featuring the restoration and probable customization of one of the surviving Futureliners.
