1958 Bonneville frame stencils
I just started the cleanup of my 58 convertible frame and found stenciling on the driver's frame rail. Has anyone else found this or know anything about it.
What I have/know is AOS 10-28-57, for AO Smith, the frame mfr. and date.
The second line is PONT 308088 M25. I was told this is Pontiac model 25 (Bonneville). The last line is a bunch of numbers, mostly rusted over that I can't read, but ending in 528 206 (or 286, maybe). Also, I found the serial number stamped on frame, rt side top, near where the firewall would be.
Thanks,
Brian

Looks like you are doing well decoding it. Once you determine your numbers you can order the stencil made by Quanta Restorations at www.gastanks.com. I have a few 1957 examples, will take a look at some numbers and see if I can post any further help,

I can't post it but I have a photo of a 1957 that reads as follows:
11-01-56
308080-40
521539
This is printed right side up on the frame in white letters, 11-01-56 is the date and 380080 is likely the AO Smith part #. 40 is undetermined, this car is a model 2867 so it is not a model number. 521539 is the Pontiac frame part number, the parts manual lists your 1958 as 528974 WITH air suspension and 531761 without air suspension but these numbers may have changed during the year. For more parts manual info take a look at www.pontiacsafari.com , good luck with yours,

58 Bonneville frame stencil
Thanks for the info. I was looking for a supplier of the stencils. Will try to add a photo. Should show as attachment.
Brian
P.S. I just looked up the frame number per 1958 Pontiac Master Parts Catalog, and for Model 2567 without air suspension, the part number is 528208----Mystery solved!!!

Yup, looks like you have everything you need, that Quanta Restorations makes the stencils for Corvettes but the lettering and everything is the same, I think you just have to give them what you want and they will make it up, very good, Todd C
