HEI Distributors

Can any one tell me which year hei distributor will work in a 63 389 4bc auto? I know I can use a stock one and use Protronics as that is what I have in a 62 cat but building this motor for another car.

You can use 1975-1980 as long as it doesn't hit the carb linkage for the trans pressure. The 1980 may need the control module changed to an earlier one.

You would be better off leaving the single points distributor in and putting the correct solid copper core wires on it....
