Economy intake
I have a stock engined 1955 287ci Star Chief w/Carter WCFB carb. Later Pontiac went to the Quadrajet, would changing to a quadrajet help. In the 70's there were lots of economy manifolds out there, were there any for this engine?

NO. The WCFB is correctly sized for a 287 CID engine. A Rochester QuadraJet
would be way too large for an early engine...

NO. Aftermarket manifolds for 1955-60 heads and reverse-flow water were only offered
in 3x2 or 2x4 configurations. Later intakes are available for 1965-79 cyl heads and feature
standard-flow watering...
