Oil dip stick length
I recently purchased a 1977 CAN AM and it has a new oil dip stick in it. It is too long I think as it is forced out of the tube when running. Either the tube is wrong and too short or the stick is too long. The length of the stick is 17 1/2 " from the hood of the stick to the end. Can anybody shed some light on the accurate length of what should be in there or the tube length. Mine is with A/C and has the proper 400 T/A engine in it.

Does it have the A/C system intact with all the proper brackets on it?
