From the Jan/Feb Astro News Flash (Canadian Pontiac Chapter newsletter)
In Memoriam
Hillar Jaan Pinna
02-23-1959 ~ 01-08-2010
With sadness we announce that Hillar Pinna passed away suddenly on January 8, 2010 while at his home. Hillar was in his 51st year. Hillar has been a member of POCI for over 20 years, he regularly attended each POCI convention, Woodward and the Pure Stock drag races each year plus countless swaps and events in both Canada and the USA. Hillar had a wide circle of friends in the Pontiac Community and he was a Charter member of the Canadian Pontiac Specialty Chapter of POCI.
Hillar enjoyed collecting parts and literature as well as acquiring cars he could work on as projects. He was often the brunt of jokes about not being able to drive his treasures but he took it all in good fun and promised us all that someday they would all be back on the road and machines of glory. He had a passion for Canadian Pontiacs in particular.
Hillar was anxiously awaiting spring when the plan was to get one of his Pontiacs roadworthy and race ready for the Pure Stocks later in the summer. He was a good friend and font of knowledge on all things Pontiac. He will be missed greatly on both sides of the border.

Sorry to hear about the passing of a fellow POCI member. Sobering thought considering he was my age.
Take time to refect on this, tell your family members you love them every day and don't wait forever to take that old Pontiac out for a ride even if it is not perfect.

I just read a blog on CDN. Poncho site on Hillar, showed picture of his 70, 2dr.htp. that he'd just bought & only driven 4 times before going into storage!! Writer started car up in storage building, & sat in passengers seat & "swore" he could see him behind the wheel???

And that's a problem? If a spirit's going to attach to something it might as well be something they enjoyed in life!

Just lost a good friend & neighbour, He wasn't into Pontiacs but had a 1941 Chevy 1 ton P/up totally restored, & was doing a 64 Buick Rivera 401 dual quad, factory air car. He was 68 yrs yrs. young, said to his wife he didn't feel well & would be up to bed later, she found him in the morning, still sitting in the "lazy Boy" & he was GONE!!! Man life's too short, enjoy it while you can!!!!
