I have a friend in the body shop biz that is repairing a crashed '61 Catalina convertible. He needs a driver side door and front fender. Call me or e-mail if you have one or both. Thanks...

here's a guy who has kits. maybe you could get a kit and rebuild it yourself or jhave a mechanic you trust do it with the kit you buy. There are also some kits on eBay.

Kevin,
According to this site, http://www.ultimategto.com/art18.htm, the "21" is the zone, which is Dallas, TX. Dealer "991" was the Zone Office. It doesn't list "152."

GMB,
I have had good luck with Coker tires (www.coker.com). They have lots of styles and sizes.

Thanks everyone who came and participated in the 2011 convention in Bowling Green. And thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make it a success. It was a great convention.
Better get on board...

Pretty car. My parents bought a new yellow '68 LeMans and sold me their '66 Catalina convertible when I was a high school senior.

Jim,
I have had good luck with Simi-Chrome polish. It comes in a tube and is available at most motorcycle shops.

I remember seeing a lot of those around central Indiana back in the early 1980s. I always though they looked pretty cool.

I have found my local PPG auto paint store to be very helpful in trying to match colors. If you have one and it's run by car guys (they usually are), they'll probably let you look through their color...

Jim,
I have a set of blue dots here and the retaining ring is already fastened to the blue dot lens. If you do it, I would suggest practicing on a scratched up lens that you intend to throw away...

I bought one from them for my '61. It started leaking at the seam after about 2 years. Might want to put a little extra sealer on it before you install.

Good stuff! Joe is a great guy and a real asset to the old car hobby, Pontiacs and otherwise.

Yes, that is a good book. If you like GM Motorama dream cars, it's a good one to have.

Actually, I can touch one of those. Joe Bortz has restored the middle one on the second page (the Biscayne). It made its post restoration debut at Pebble Beach this year.

I had a similar situation on a car once, but mine woul ddie while I was driving (always at the most inopportune time). Turned out that the coil was bad. When it got hot, the windings would expand to...

Just one era? Ok, I choose the era of 1926 to 1966.

Pete,
In most states in the US, the car is only required to have the equipment that was mandated when it was built. Retrofitting is not required. Mirrors were not mandatory until sometime in the...
